Shared Values
Authentic Worship
…We value encounters with God that produce life changing results. These encounters must be genuine. They must have substance. They must be daily. Authentic Worshippers are transparent and honest about what is happening in their lives. Authentic worshippers are committed, understanding both the vertical and horizontal dimensions of worship. Authentic Worshippers are reverent, understanding that God is holy and is worthy of glory and honor. Authentic Worshippers are involved as they enter into His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. (John 4:23; Philippians 3:3; Romans 12:1-2)
Permeating Relationships
…We value being a family that takes care of one another’s needs, meeting together regularly in homes and in the community, sharing meals together and experiencing life together, both in celebration and in suffering. (Colossians 3:12-17; Acts 2:42-47; Romans 12:15)
Transformational Truth
…We value teaching the truth about God in all aspects of life through His creation, His written Word and through a continual study of the life of Jesus Christ. And, because we know that simply knowing Truth is not enough, we will call people to surrender and submit to God’s Truth in repentance and faith and live it out through love and obedience. Our heart is to teach the Truth about God so that people will know His will, desire to obey it, and be able to live it out with love as their motive and the Holy Spirit as their Helper. (Philippians 3:17-21; John 8:32; John 17:17)
Selfless Giving
…We value showing compassion daily for the widow, the orphan, the poor and the outcast. We are to ask ourselves, “Who can I be a neighbor to?”. Those who follow The Way of Jesus will be known for their love towards others. We can wash one another’s feet by serving in practical, tangible ways. (Matthew 14:16; Matthew 25:35; 1 Timothy 6:18; James 1:27, 2:15-16; Acts 2:45; 1 John 3:17)
Intentional Discipleship
…We value continuing Jesus’ work here on Earth. We know our job is to equip the people of God to do ministry in our culture. We are also committed to a team of ministers and leaders, not a one man show. The church was never meant to revolve around one pastor or leader aside from Jesus Christ. We are a body made up of many parts and as each part does its work, the Body is built up. So, we are committed to equip people for ministry, to do it as a team, and to continually send more developed, trained and commissioned ministers into the world. We expect to commission people to serve as the priests of God as teachers, policemen, businessmen, artists, wilderness explorers, social workers, musicians, mothers, realtors, architects, baristas, etc. (Matthew 28:19; John 21:15-17; 1 Peter 5:2; Ephesians 4:11-12, 16; Romans 12:4-5)
